Gold Seal Certification What is Gold Seal?
The CCA Gold Seal Certification Program is a national certification program for construction Project Managers, Superintendents, Estimators, Construction Safety Coordinators and Owners’ Project Managers. Certification is based on the candidate's education, experience and their ability to satisfy the rigorous standards of the Program. This may mean the successful completion of a Gold Seal exam. The Gold Seal Certificate was developed by the industry for the industry and is a voluntary certification program for the individual. The Certificate signifies that the individual has attained a nationally recognized level of experience and competence as a Project Manager, Superintendent, Estimator, Construction Safety Coordinator or Owners’ Project Managers.
Benefits of Gold Seal
For the individual - the Gold Seal Certificate is a declaration of skill and competence that is recognized by the construction industry across the country. The Certificate will enhance mobility and professional development of construction managers.
For the contractor - employing Gold Seal Certified managers is a statement regarding the professionalism and commitment of the firm to construction management excellence. A Gold Seal Certificate assists employers in recruiting capable construction managers.

Senior Practitioner GSC To qualify to apply under the Senior Practitioner Criteria, an individual must have a minimum of 15 years relevant Canadian experience as a Project Manager, Superintendent, Estimator or Owner’s Project Manager as well as a minimum of 25 education and training credits and score a minimum of 200 Gold Seal Certification points.

Examination GSC
To qualify to apply under the Examination Criteria, an individual must have a minimum of 5 years’ experience plus 25 education and training credits. as a Project Manager, Superintendent, Estimator, Owner's Project Manager or Construction Safety Coordinator and score a minimum of 100 Gold Seal Certification points.

Exams Dates Gold Seal Exams are held three times a year in January, April and October.

Intern GSI
For those who do not have enough credit points to qualify to write the Gold Seal exam, applicants can be certified as an Intern as long as they meet the minimum requirements listed below. Interns would then have 5 years to get the necessary criteria to be eligible to write the exam.
- Industry Experience of at least one (1) year in the designation; OR,
- Have complete a related engineering technology/technician program and have one (1) year of experience in the designation; OR,
- Must be enrolled in an employer-sponsored program leading to the recognition as a project manager, estimator, superintendent or construction safety coordinator.
- Employment as a project coordinator, assistant project manager, assistant Superintendent or junior estimator is considered to be an employer-sponsored program and does qualify as years of experience (a minimum of 3 years’ experience must be in the Gold Seal designation).

Professional, Gold Seal Certified P.GSC
To qualify for designation of Professional, Gold Seal Certified, it is open to candidates who • Have obtained a Gold Seal Certificate; and • Have submitted an application form detailing their professional upgrading activities in the previous calendar year and; • Have paid the applicable fees (a new application is required each year).
