E-Learning by Construction Sector Council

The Construction Sector Council (CSC) is a national organization committed to the development of a highly skilled construction workforce. One of their ongoing programs is the development of e-learning courses for construction supervisory and managerial personnel.

The Southern Interior Construction Association (SICA) is pleased to offer the following online courses - a great opportunity to learn at your own speed and convenience, as well as gain valuable Gold Seal credits!

Communications, Negotiation, and Conflict Resolution
The course has been designed to help improve the written, oral, and negotiating skills of estimators, superintendents, and project managers who must deal effectively and professionally with employees, sub-trades, owners, clients, engineers, and their employers. This course earns participants five credits towards Gold Seal certification.

Pipeline Construction Safety Training (PCST)
The Pipeline Construction Safety Training course teaches the pipeline worker how to respond to worksite health and safety issues by taking the user through the entire pipeline construction process from beginning to end. This course earns participants five credits towards Gold Seal certification.

Project Management
This course is designed for project managers, superintendents, and estimators. The course covers business case development, procurement, contracting, risk management, and project close-out. This course earns participants five credits towards Gold Seal certification.

Construction Law
This course is designed to teach and familiarize owners, managers, supervisors, and project managers with construction contracts and contract law; liabilities and responsibilities of all parties to a contract, compiling and submitting proper extras and claims, and ways and means for leaders to avoid conflict with contracts, owners, trades, and labour. The course earns participants five credits towards Gold Seal certification.

The cost of each CSC e-learning course is $100.
